Fixed and Removable Dentures In Pune
To be a good fit, dentures require careful measurement, precise cutting and also the selection of the right materials. We at ‘The Art of Smile’ look into the fitting, cutting and refining of the denture for a smooth fit.
There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. We will help you choose the type of denture that’s best for you based on whether some or all of your teeth are going to be replaced and the cost involved.
Types of Dentures
1. Conventional or Complete Dentures
These dentures are full and removable. They can only be placed in your mouth after all the remaining teeth are removed and all the tissues have healed.
2. Immediate Dentures
Immediate dentures are removable and are inserted on the same day that the teeth are removed.
The denture may need to be remade or realigned after the healing period has been completed.
3. Overdentures
In some cases, some of your teeth can be saved in order to preserve your jawbone. These provide stability and support for the denture. An overdenture is designed to fit over a small number of natural teeth after some prepping by a dentist. Implants can also serve the same function..
4. Implant retained dentures
An implant-supported denture is also a type of overdenture that is supported by and attached to implants. An implant-supported denture is used when a person doesn’t have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. An implant-supported denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants.
Dental implants will hold your dentures firmly in place: they are small titanium screws that are implanted into the jaw and act like the natural tooth root. Titanium is a biocompatible material that will fuse into the jawbone, so they become part of you and look and feel extremely natural. Dentures supported by implants are much more stable, retentive and comfortable
